Cecilia Torres, MPH

Ms. Cecilia Torres is an Epidemiologist in the Center for Biomedical and Minority Health Research at Texas Southern University. She graduated from Texas A&M University with both her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a minor in Occupational Safety and Health.

Her research interests include maternal & child health, environmental health, and spatial epidemiology. Certified in SAS programming, Ms. Torres is creating coursework and teaching workshops surrounding SAS to students/staff/faculty at TSU to help grow data science capabilities. As a public health professional, she serves as a trainer in multiple programs teaching public health, maternal health, and data science to undergraduate and graduate students at TSU and high schoolers across Harris County
